Vega trader vs Tradervue options journal

Tradervue is a long-running trading journal. It imports fills, tags them, and reports performance. Vega trader is built around the option position you are managing, not only the fill that created it.

Plan names and prices were taken from each product’s public pages in October 2026. Confirm them before you pay. Tradervue

A fill journal and a position journal

Tradervue has been a home for imported trades for years. The free plan allows 30 trades a month. Silver, at $29.95 a month, adds unlimited imports, broker sync, and the advanced reports. Gold, at $49.95 a month, adds exit analysis, commissions, and risk reporting. Paid plans offer a trial that bills the card unless you move back to Free. The exit-analysis help page describes that Gold feature for stock, futures, and forex trades. Options are part of the product, and the practical question is whether your broker’s export includes expired and assigned contracts. Confirm the matrix on tradervue.com.

Vega trader never sees the broker file. The record is the structure: each leg, the price you entered, and any roll you add later. From that record it draws current P/L, the break-even marks, and Delta, Gamma, Theta, and Vega. The expiration date stays on the trade, and the calendar collects the dates that are close.

What the stats describe

Tradervue is strong when the question is about your execution over a long history: tags, time of day, MFE and MAE on a paid plan, and a report you can drill into. That is a journal of how you traded.

Vega trader answers a narrower question: what this option position is doing, and what the closed option trades say about a strategy. Twelve indicators appear once you group trades into a strategy or an account on Essential. You can also ask Vega AI in plain language, from the app or from an MCP client.

Which record to keep

Stay with Tradervue if the import, the tags, and a decade of report habits are already how you review. The Silver and Gold prices are the ones to compare with the time you would spend typing legs.

Move the options book to Vega trader if the missing piece is the live position: Greeks, break-evens, and a reminder before expiration. The Free plan covers the journal, the calendar, and the dashboard. You add the legs yourself.

  • Tradervue, when imported fills and execution reports are the review.
  • Vega trader, when the open option structure is the review.
